Katie's Kindergarten

I just wanted to ask those of you who are reading this right now, including some family members, to just keep Katie in prayer. This is her first year back in the role she loves to be in; teaching Kindergarten again. As some of you know already, she left after the 2002/2003 school year to raise Aaron and Gracie. When we got Gracie's diagnosis, the time table was again set before God and on hold. We had planned on Katie taking a maternity leave at the end of this year, but God is in control. I know this will be a very hard adjustment again, but she's such a light in the eyes of the students she teaches. Please pray for that adjustment into her teaching again, and pray that she will be such a blessing in the lives and hearts of those little kids. It's a Christian elementary school. It's a wonderful environment. I know she will be so comforted surrounded by those little faces. Just lift her up before the Lord during these next couple of weeks before school begins and even after it starts. Those children in the past, and their families, have been like extensions of our own family. So, just pray that "oh, oh, Mrs. Tyler?, Mrs. Tyler?" will be comforted in Jesus' arms as she prepares for this adventure. Thank you. God bless.

My students are a lot less eager and wild in the classroom, but I could also always use your prayers. ;)

As a teacher myself, I completely understand Katie's need for both physical and emotional strength as she transitions back into the classroom. Kindergarten is especially taxing! I will pray for her (and for you, too) as the school year starts. You are so right, there is something so comforting, and refreshing about spending a day with children. May God use her students to minister to her as she ministers to them.

I would ask all of you blog readers to pray for all teachers as we head back to school. Whether we are in public, private, or even home schools, I believe that God has divine appointments scheduled for us with each student in our class. Please pray that our students will experience Christ's love through us.

Dawn, Amen! Although I may be biased, Katie is one amazing teacher. Actually, her students and my students aren't that much different from each other. She teaches five/six year-olds. My students act like five/six year-olds. This will actually be a very good transition, I'm hoping for her. Aaron will be in second grade at the same school; in fact, he'll just be down the hallway. I teach the upper grades (High School) at the same school. It's the best way she can return to the classroom. Again, prayers and thanks!

JB,

It is my privilege to pray. I teach a 4th/5th class. Last year my son was a 4th grader across the hall. This year not only will he be across the hall, but my younger son will be a kindergartener down the hall. I absolutely love teaching where my sons are in school!

I pray that Aaron, Katie, and you all enjoy being together and have a wonderful year.

In Him,
Dawn
